INVERTER - SPEED REGULATORS

Tuesday, 29 November 2022
by vomvas paris

An inverter controls the frequency of power supplied to an AC motor to control the rotational speed of the motor.
Without an inverter, the AC motor would run at full speed as soon as you turned on the power supply. You would not be able to control the speed, making applications for the motor limited. Using an inverter to regulate the speed and acceleration of an AC motor increases the motor's range of applications compared to a constant speed motor. The speed of an engine is normally measured as the number of revolutions per minute (rpm). The rate of acceleration is given as the change in velocity over a certain period of time.
INVERTER SPEED REGULATORS

Features
Adjust and change AC frequency and voltage freely

An inverter uses this function to freely control the speed and torque of a motor.

This type of control, in which the frequency and voltage are freely adjustable, is called pulse width modulation, or PWM. The inverter first converts AC power to DC power and again creates AC power from the converted DC power using PWM control. The inverter outputs a pulsed voltage and the pulses are smoothed by the motor coil so that a sine wave current flows into the motor to control motor speed and torque.

The voltage output from the inverter is in pulse form.
The pulses are smoothed by the motor coil and a sine wave current flows. As a result, the output from a general-purpose inverter cannot be used for equipment other than motors.

Main key functions Applicable engines
Inverters can control induction motors. Inverters can control synchronous motors.

As induction motors can be used to achieve simple speed control at relatively low cost, they are used in many applications. They can only be used by connecting an AC power supply, so installation is extremely easy. Generally, a cooling fan is attached to the rear to help dissipate the heat generated by the engine.

Torque Boost (Torque Compensation)

In low frequency ranges, the voltage drop has a large impact, reducing motor torque. To compensate for this, adjustments are made to produce high voltage at the required frequency. This function is called torque boost or torque compensation. Two torque boost options are available: Manual Torque Adjustment and Automatic Torque Adjustment.

Inverter overload detection

There are two types of overload with an inverter: inverter overload and motor overload. Overload detection is performed to protect both the inverter and the motor from burning.

Voltage surge detection and braking function

When a motor slows down, or when the load is reduced, the motor serves as a generator to supply power to the inverter. This phenomenon is known as regeneration. If the regenerative energy is too large to be stored in the inverter, it causes overvoltage. Regenerative treatment uses the braking circuits built into the inverter to convert the regenerated energy into heat through resistors, preventing overvoltage.

Control functions

V / f control
V / f control is a method of controlling a motor by supplying a specific current to the coil to output a specific torque. Therefore, voltage and frequency are in a proportional relationship. This is called V / f characteristics.

Control vector
The control carrier is used to correct the output waveform according to the voltage and current output from the inverter in an induction motor. Motor speed and output torque are calculated from the output voltage and current to control them. Although induction motors have unstable characteristics, the use of carrier control produces stable characteristics where the actual speed can follow a reference frequency. There are mainly the following two types of carrier control.

Carrier control without sensors
No sensor means no feedback from an encoder. Although there is no feedback signal from a sensor, the current and voltage output from the inverter to the motor are used to correct the output waveform. This allows for better speed control.

Controller with encoder feedback
Unlike carrier sensorless control, control is performed using feedback from an encoder. The encoder is also called a pulse generator, and this type of control is also called a PG control operator. With this method, the inverter monitors the output voltage, output current and encoder feedback from the motor. Encoder feedback is used to adjust the output waveform to perform precise speed control.

Remote Controls for Television - Garage Doors - Clima

Tuesday, 18 May 2021
by vomvas paris

The remote control is an electronic device that enables us to wirelessly use other electronic devices from a distance. In our homes, a remote control can be used to operate appliances such as television, air conditioner, satellite receivers and many more. A remote control can allow us to operate devices whose places are hard to reach and do not allow us to use them manually. Their optimal function is achieved when used from a short distance. This is primarily a convenience feature for the user. In some cases, remote controls allow a person to operate a device they would otherwise be unable to reach, such as when the garage door opener is used outside.

Wireless remote control historical data

In 1894, the first example of wireless remote control was during a demonstration by British physicist Oliver Lodge. In 1895, Jagadish Chandra Bose demonstrated radio waves by firing a gun and sounding a bell using microwaves transmitted 75 feet through interfering walls. Radio innovators Guglielmo Marconi and William Preece, in a demonstration on December 12, 1896, at Toynbee Hall made a bell ring by pressing a button in a box that was not connected by wires
In 1898, Nikola Tesla filed his patent, US Patent 613,809, entitled Method of Apparatus for Controlling the Mechanism of a Moving Vehicle or Vehicles, which he publicly demonstrated by radio-controlling a vessel during an electrical exhibition at Madison Square Garden.
In 1903, Leonardo Torres Quevedo presented the Telekino at the Paris Academy of Sciences. Telekino consisted of a robot that carried out commands transmitted by electromagnetic waves. With Telekino, Torres Quevedo defined modern wireless remote control principles.

TV remote control

The first remote control intended to control a television was developed by Zenith Radio Corporation in 1950. The remote control, called "Lazy Bones," was connected to the television by a cable. A wireless remote control, the "Flashmatic" was developed in 1955 by Eugene Polley. It worked by sending a beam of light into one of four photoelectric cells. The Flashmatic also had to be pointed precisely at one of the sensors to work.

In 1956, Robert Adler developed the "Zenith Space Command", a wireless remote control. It was mechanical and used ultrasound to change the channel and volume.
Later, the rapid reduction in the price of transistors made it possible to create cheaper electronic remote controls that contained a piezoelectric crystal fed by an oscillating electric current at a frequency near or above the upper limit of human hearing, although still audible to dogs. The receiver contained a microphone connected to a circuit tuned to the same frequency.
In 1970, RCA introduced a remote control using digital signals and a MOSFET, a transistor array that has a source, gate, and semiconductor. This was widely adopted for color television, replacing motorized tuning controls. The impetus for a more sophisticated type of computer came in 1973, with the development of the Ceefax teletext service by the BBC. Most mini computers at the time had a limited number of functions, sometimes less than three: next channel, previous channel, and volume/off. This type of control does not meet the needs of Teletext sets, where pages are numbered by three digits. A remote control that selects Teletext pages will need buttons for each number from zero to nine, as well as other control functions such as text-to-picture switching and the normal TV controls for volume, channel, brightness, color intensity, etc. Early Teletext sets used wired remote controls to select pages, but the constant use of the remote control required for Teletext quickly demonstrated the need for a wireless device. This is how remote controls began to be manufactured in their current form.

In 1980, the most popular remote control was the Starcom Cable Box which used 40kHz audio to change channels. Then a Canadian company, Viewstar, Inc., was created by engineer Paul Hrivnak and began producing a cable TV converter box with an infrared remote control.

Air conditioner
With the remote control of an air conditioner we can put it into operation from a distance. Through this remote control of the air condition we can take advantage of all the possibilities that our air conditioner provides us with regard to the hours it will work and much more. We can also change the temperature we want by pressing a button.

Garage
Copy garage door remotes are very common, especially in areas where garages are widely used. Such a remote control is very simple in design, usually consisting of only one button but there are also some with more buttons for more functions. If you find switches on the remote, it's likely to be fixed code, an older technology that was widely used. However, fixed codes have been criticized for their (lack of) security, so rolling code has been increasingly used in later installations.

LED lamps

The most effective way of lighting today is undoubtedly with LED. Compared to older lighting technologies such as incandescent, halogen and CFL lamps, you will find that LED is by far the most energy saving and smart solution.

LED lamps are a type of electronic light source. LED bulbs differ from conventional light sources, such as incandescent and halogen bulbs. They last much longer, consume much less energy and emit very little heat. They are very durable and do not have fragile elements such as glass tubes or threads. They are also safer because they do not contain mercury or lead. LED bulbs are now available in most common luminaires, including the GU10, B22, E27 and MR16.

What kind of Led lamps are there?

Everything you need to know about led strips

Tuesday, 16 March 2021
by vomvas paris

What are led strips?
LED strips are new and flexible forms of lighting. There are many variations and exceptions, but for the most part, they have the following characteristics:

  • They consist of many individual LEDs mounted on a narrow, flexible circuit
  • It works with low DC voltage
  • They are available in a wide variety of fixed and variable colors and brightness
  • Supplied on a 5m roll, can be cut to length and includes double sided adhesive for mounting

Anatomy of led strip
LED strip is typically half an inch (10-12 mm) wide and up to 5 meters or more in length. They can be cut to specific lengths using just a pair of scissors along the cut lines, located every 5-10 cm.

The LEDs are placed along the strip, usually at densities of 60-120 per meter. The light color and the quality of the individual leds determine the overall light and its quality.

The back side of the led strip includes pre-applied double-sided adhesive. Simply remove the liner and place the led strip on almost any surface. Because the circuit is designed to be flexible, the LED strips can be placed on curved and uneven surfaces.

Determination of the brightness of led strips
The brightness of led strips is determined using lumens. Unlike incandescent bulbs, different LED strips can have different output levels, so the wattage rating is not always important in determining actual light output.

The brightness of led strips is usually described in lumens per meter. A good quality led strip should provide at least 1500 lumens per meter, which provides about the same amount of light output per meter as a traditional T8 fluorescent lamp.

The brightness of led strips is mainly determined by three factors:

  • Output and light output per Led
  • The number of leds per meter
  • The power of the led strip per meter

A led strip without a lumens specification is a red flag. You'll also want to watch out for low-cost LED strips that claim high brightness, as they may drive the LEDs to the point of premature failure.

LED Density and Power Consumption

You may come across various led names, such as 2835, 3528, 5050 or 5730. Don't worry too much about this, as what is most important in an LED strip is the number of LEDs per meter and the power per meter.

The density of the LEDs is important in determining the distance between the LEDs (pitch) and whether there will be visible spots and dark spots between the LED emitters. A higher density of 120 LEDs per meter usually provides the best, more evenly distributed lighting effect. LEDs are the most expensive component of led strip manufacturing, so be sure to factor in led density differences when comparing led strip prices.

Next, consider the power of the led strip per meter. Power consumption tells us how much power the system will consume, so this is important to determine your electricity costs and power supply requirements. A good quality led strip should be able to provide 4 watts per 30 cm or more (15 W / meter).

LED strip color options: White
The films are available in various shades of white or colors. In general, white light is the most useful and popular choice for indoor lighting applications.

In describing the different hues and qualities of white, color temperature (CCT) and color rendering index (CRI) are two measurements that are important to remember.

Color temperature is a measure of how "warm" or "cool" the color of light appears. The soft glow of a traditional incandescent bulb has a low color temperature (2700K), while the bright white of natural daylight has a high color temperature (6500K).

Color rendering index (CRI) is a measure of how accurately colors appear under the light source. Under a low-CRI LED strip, colors can appear distorted, washed out, or indistinct. Professional Series products provide light that allows objects to appear in the same way as an ideal light source, such as a halogen lamp or natural daylight.

5 Tips to choose the best switches and sockets

Monday, 8 March 2021
by vomvas paris

When designing and creating your home, there are many points of care to consider, from furniture to electronic devices and their accompanying settings. This is where switches and plugs come into play. These features effectively act as a link between the user and the device connected to it, as the switches essentially stop and start an electrical circuit. Some of the great tips to consider while choosing switches and sockets can be discussed below :

Plan

It goes without saying, it's important to consider the design and aesthetics of any appliance in your home. All of the industry's leading giants offer a range of different designs, each covering a distinct style.

Quality of materials

One of the other important aspects for the interested buyer is to consider the type of material used to make the switches and sockets. In addition, modern electrical brands specialize in making fire and shock resistant switches and sockets. These devices can especially reduce the risk of electrical fires in the home and office.

Connectivity & Accessibility

In this day and age, most of us have friends and family members living abroad. In most cases, when they come on vacation, they have to carry or buy adapters and extensions to connect their phones and/or laptops. Modern switches effectively solve this problem by offering support for multiple plug types.

Security

Security is a major concern of households. Therefore, it is important to choose the reliable switch and socket for building safe lighting systems. These reliable and secure switches and sockets are manufactured by professional manufacturers using RoHS compliant manufacturing processes. Our modern electrical switches and sockets are safe to use and can significantly reduce the risk of electrical fires in the home.

Repair & replacement

In the traditional form, replacing faulty switches is fraught with problems. Usually, the entire faceplate has to be unscrewed, then the faulty switch is removed and replaced, and then the faceplate is put back in place. Often, lifting the face plate can damage the wallpaper or paint around it, giving your carefully designed decor a tarnished look. New switches and sockets offer a more convenient solution. Instead of disconnecting the entire plate, a faulty electrical switch can be replaced by a front-loading mechanism that allows a specific switch or outlet on the plate to be easily disconnected.

Electronio is one of the many players in the field of electrical switches and sockets. It is important to point out that it has expanded its activities to online platforms, through the creation of an e-commerce website domain. Room lighting

Saturday, 19 December 2020
by vomvas paris

It is generally accepted and established by scientific studies, how crucial a role the right lighting plays in people's mental health.

The experienced designer will tell you that lighting is decisive for the decoration of every room of our home, something that most people ignore or consider as a second priority.

Lighting contributes the most to shaping a space, affecting our mood and emotions accordingly. The right light lifts the mood, inspires and motivates us. At home, light enlivens small things, habits or moments spent with family and friends.

Here are some guidelines for creating a well-lit space

Room lighting

Lighting in the kitchen

The kitchen area definitely needs bright lighting. We suggest lighting the space by installing high hats or recesses at the ends of the ceiling.

The space under the cabinet must be covered with lighting. Installing strips of LED light at the bottom of your upper cabinets is the convenient and easiest way to create a uniformly lit area for meal preparation and preparation.

It goes without saying that the orientation of the rooms should not escape our attention. If you have a north-facing room without direct sunlight, it will take more care to cover it with corresponding lighting.

Install recessed lighting along the perimeter of a north-facing living room to complement central lighting that spans the entire space horizontally. In addition, table lamps can be used to illuminate dark corners as well as a pair of sconces to highlight a special piece of art.

For a dark bedroom, use a similar strategy, combining a central chandelier with subtle lamps in the corners of the room, on the bedside tables

and a pair of sconces on the fireplace opposite the bed.

Differences between TV Wall Mounts and TV Floor Mounts

Wednesday, 7 October 2020
by vomvas paris

CLICK HERE TO CHOOSE THE TV STAND THAT SUITS YOU AT ELECTRONIO.GR

With advances in display technology, new TVs are thinner and lighter than ever, making them easier to mount on the wall. However, floor TV stands also have their advantages.

When choosing whether to wall mount or purchase a floor standing TV stand, there are many things to consider. Which style suits your room best?

TV WALL MOUNT

Most new flat screen TVs are designed for wall mounting, with default holes on the back for attaching to stands and brackets.

All of these are designed to a standard - called the VESA Mounting Interface Standard - which means you can get a certain size bracket and be sure it will fit. Usually, the TV box will state the type of stand you need.

ADVANTAGES

The most important advantage of wall mounted TVs is the space it saves you. Because they're so thin and can be secured so close to the wall, they don't stick at all - meaning you don't need to take up floor space with a table or stand.

Wall-mounted TVs are used as the focal point of a room and give a stylish and modern finish. Cables can be hidden, making the room less cluttered and reducing the risk of falling over them.

Bases are much easier to install than people think. It usually takes less than an hour to set up and connect everything. A step-by-step guide will come with the base, as well as plenty of online videos and how-to guides.

Wall-mounted TVs also make it easier to achieve optimal viewing distance and reduce the potential for eye or neck strain. You can mount the monitor at a height that suits you.

DISADVANTAGES

The main downside with a wall-mounted TV is that it takes a bit more effort to set things up than with a TV stand.

It is vital that the TV is properly attached and the bolts are secure, or you could end up with an expensive mess on the floor. If you live near a train station or an area that has a lot of construction work, the vibrations could increase the risk of it running loose. However, a properly connected TV with a suitable stand or bracket should not cause any problems.

A variety of wall mounts and brackets are available. Some of these are relatively expensive and, depending on the type you choose, can cost almost as much as the TV itself.

If it is placed too high on the wall, it may be uncomfortable to watch TV while looking at the screen. It may also be in direct sunlight from nearby windows.

You can arrange to hide electrical wires, but you will need to use an electrician to install wires in the wall, which is an additional cost.

If you have additional devices such as a sound system, DVD player or video game console, you can lose the cluttered look as all the audio and video cables will be visible. You'll also need something to put these set pieces on.

FLOOR TELEVISION STAND

ADVANTAGES

Having a floor TV stand offers more storage space and can be more practical. Choose an attractive table design with drawers or cabinets that will add to the look of the room, giving you space for DVDs, video games and controllers. A stand will also hide any cables and act as an extra shelf for your surround sound system, console or set-top box.

A TV stand gives you easy access to all cables and sockets in case you need to change them.

DISADVANTAGES

Floor TV stands take up more space than wall mounts, so if you have limited floor space, they are probably not the best choice. Balancing on a table also means that if someone knocks over them, the TV could fall.

If you have children or pets, a TV wall mount may be a better idea. Fingerprints, dog snot and run-ins can threaten your TV - either with smudged marks or damage.

There are many styles of TV wall mounts, ranging from basic fixed designs to those with complete flexibility.

When choosing your stand, you need to consider exactly what you want it to do: do you want to adjust your TV for different viewing positions, change the angle of the screen or have it too close to the wall?

TV stands vary in price, from less than €10 to over €100

The most basic and cheapest style of base available, flat bases are also the easiest to install. These hold your TV close to the wall, just an inch away, but have no angle or tilt capabilities. Another issue is that it can be difficult to change cables.

Plasma TVs work well with this type of mount as they have the widest horizontal and vertical viewing angles - perfect for combating lack of adjustment.

Tilted TV wall mounts cost more than the basic type, but are just as easy to install. They work by having a pivot in the middle of the mounting bracket, allowing you to change the vertical angle of the screen. Even if you lie on the floor, you will have a good view. It also helps compensate if your TV position is above the optimal viewing level.

You can adjust models with swivel bases in a similar way, but from side to side. If your room has more than one sofa and viewing point, swivel bases are a great option.

These styles don't sit as close to the wall as a basic base, but are still a few inches away at most. This style looks great placed over a fireplace or high up on a bedroom wall. The angle adjustment helps minimize screen reflections from windows or lights, which can be a problem for some plasma and LCD TVs.

Tilting the TV wall mount costs more, but is just as easy to install.

Full-motion stands have a folding arm between the wall and the TV.

The most sophisticated and versatile type of mount, articulated mounts provide the most tilt / swivel flexibility. The arm folds back so the TV can be close to the wall when not in use. However, when using it, you can move the TV several inches off the wall, which allows for more range of motion.
